Brent Elsasser joined the Creighton sports information department in August of 2007 and will be the primary contact for the women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, crew, and baseball teams. He will be responsible for news releases, game programs, and updating the Creighton athletics website for his assigned sports. He will also design and write the 2008 Bluejays baseball media guide.
Elsasser came to Creighton from Missouri State University, where he was an intern and later a graduate assistant in their sports information office. During his two years at Missouri State, Elsasser was the primary contact for the men’s soccer and softball teams. He wrote and designed media guides for his assigned sports, along with the 2006 track and field and 2007 women’s soccer guides, during his time in Springfield.
Elsasser also served as the media relations intern for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006 during spring training in Jupiter, Fla. He was primarily responsible for issuing credentials and assisting the Cardinals media relations staff with day-to-day operations. He returned to help with preparation for the first game at the new Busch Stadium and assisted during the 2006 World Series in St. Louis.
A 2005 graduate of Wayne State College, Elsasser earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration. During his time at Wayne State, he was a student worker in the sports information office and assisted with taking statistics at various sporting events.
Elsasser is a 2002 graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie High School in Bancroft, Neb. He participated on the football, basketball, and track and field teams. His eight-man football team won the state championship in 1999. Elsasser's younger brother, Kyle, is a senior on the Nebraska Wesleyan football team.
Elsasser is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Administrative Studies from Missouri State.
