OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball's Megan Bober has been named to the All-Central Region First Team, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced today. Bober is just the third player in Creighton history to attain first-team all-region honors, and also one of three sophomores on the Central Region squad.
Bober, the lone Bluejay to earn first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference honors, averaged 10.26 assists, 1.95 digs, 1.48 kills and 0.92 blocks per set. She owned 10 double-doubles on the season, and her 114 blocks are the most nationally among setters.
Bober joins Kelly Goc (2007) and Jessica Houts (2008) as Creighton players to earn AVCA All-Central Region First Team honorees. The only other sophomores to earn All-Central Region First Team accolades this fall were Iowa State's Jamie Straube and Nebraska's Hannah Werth.
Creighton finished a historic season on Saturday with a 21-12 record, earning the program's first NCAA Tournament bid and first NCAA Tournament victory. Creighton is coached by Kirsten Bernthal Booth, who owns 141 wins in eight seasons.
