Kevin Sarver is in his 26th year in the Creighton University Athletics Department and his 22nd as an Athletics administrator.
Sarver, 47, oversees all external operations for the department including the Jaybacker booster club organization, sports information, ticketing, marketing, promotions, sales, special events, publications, licensing, radio, television and digital media. Sarver is also the sport administrator for the men's and women's soccer programs and he serves as the game administrator for men's basketball home games.
Sarver, the tournament manager for the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Second-Third Rounds to be held in March at CenturyLink Center Omaha, will also serve the department in that role for the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Regionals to be held at CenturyLink Center Omaha.
Sarver, the tournament manager for the 2008 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship First/Second Rounds at Qwest Center Omaha and the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Second/Third Rounds at CenturyLink Center Omaha, has also served as tournament manager for 16 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship Preliminary Round matches played at Morrison Stadium since 2003. Sarver also served as tournament director for nine Missouri Valley Conference Soccer Championships at Morrison Stadium from 2004-2012 (Men's Soccer in 2004, 2007 and 2011; Women's Soccer in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012). In November, 2015, Sarver will serve as tournament director for the BIG EAST Conference Women's Soccer Championship presented by New York Life to be played at Morrison Stadium.
Sarver's entry into collegiate athletics started in sports information when he worked in Creighton's SID office all four of his undergraduate years including serving as the department's interim sports information director the second semester of his junior year. Sarver graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Creighton in May, 1989 and he started his professional career one month later when he was hired by his alma mater as the sports information director in June, 1989.
In July, 1993, Sarver continued his sports information duties but he was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Media Relations & Promotions. In April, 1996, Sarver was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics, relinquishing his day-to-day sports information responsibilities in favor of overseeing the Jaybacker booster club organization and ticketing as well as developing and implementing a men’s basketball season ticket priority seating program.
Sarver is a native of Oglesby, Ill., and he and his wife Lisa, a 1990 Creighton graduate and a 1993 Creighton School of Law graduate, reside in Omaha and will celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary in August. The couple are the parents of a son (Jacob, 18) and a daughter (Cassidy, 15).
