Release: 08/17/2012

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Megan Bober-led Blue Team claimed a 4-0 sweep over the White Team in Creighton's lone volleyball exhibition of the fall on Friday night. Scores of the match in favor of the Blue were 25-17, 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.

On a night where nine players played for both teams, one constant was that Megan Bober played for the Blue side. Bober, who set an MVC record with a nation-leading nine triple-doubles last season, nearly had another one with 36 assists, 11 digs and eight kills on the evening. She also shared team-high honors with four blocks.

The Blue Team owned consistent leads throughout all four sets, as White's largest lead of the night came at 12-9 in the third frame. The Blue Team would respond to that with a 6-2 spurt to reclaim the lead, and would not trail again in the set.

Natalie Hackbarth had a match-high 16 kills on the evening, while Heather Thorson finished with 11 kills and owned a match-best five blocks. Kelli Browning, who had just seven serving attempts all last season, delivered a match-best four aces on the night.

Creighton had four freshmen see action with tremendous sucess. The quartet of Melanie Jereb, Ashley Jansen, Kate Elman and Lizzy Stivers combined for 12 kills, 56 digs and four aces in their first action on the D.J. Sokol Arena floor.

Creighton opens its regular-season next Friday with a match vs. Central Florida, the first of three competitions at the USF Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
