OMAHA, Neb. – After dropping out of the poll last week for the first time since 2010, the Creighton men's soccer team returns at No. 25 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll released Tuesday afternoon, following home victories over Drake and DePaul.
Creighton received votes in the poll last week. The Bluejays are one of five new teams entering the Top 25 this week including BIG EAST rival Xavier at No. 22. The BIG EAST boasts four in the Top 25 including No. 8 Georgetown and No. 10 Marquette. Notre Dame claimed the No. 1 ranking this week.
In the latest NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) released on Monday, Creighton ranks No. 15 overall, up one spot from a week ago. The RPI is one of the primary tools utilized by the NCAA for tournament team selections and seeding.
Providence, the Bluejays’ opponent on Friday, is ranked at No. 36 in the RPI.
Creighton received votes in the latest College Soccer News Top 30 rankings released on Monday. The Jays remain unranked in the TopDrawerSoccer Top 25 from Nov. 3 as well as the latest Soccer America Men's Top 25 released Tuesday. The Soccer Times Top 25 was unavailable at press time.
The Bluejays conclude the regular season on the road at Providence on Friday at 1 p.m. CT. A Creighton victory would set up a BIG EAST quarterfinal match at home on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
