HOOVER, Ala. - Creighton's Brian Holt was named to the College Cup All-Tournament Team on Sunday, following North Carolina's 1-0 win over Charlotte in the National Championship match.  Holt shutout Charlotte on Friday in Creighton's scoreless draw with the 49ers, making three saves in his final collegiate match.  Those saves and his 17th solo shutout of the season were enough to earn him all-tournament recognition.

Two of Holt's three saves came late in the match, helping keep the 49ers off the board.  The first-team All-America goalkeeper stopped Giuseppe's Gentile's shot in the 85th minute and then turned away a close range blast from Donnie Smith in the 99th minute to prevent the game-winning goal.

The shutout moved Holt's goals against average on the season to 0.206, setting an NCAA record.  The former mark of 0.207 was held by Northern Illinois' Joe Zimka (2006).  Holt started all 19 of Creighton's clean sheets in 2011, as the Bluejays fell one shutout shy of the NCAA record.  Holt's 92.3 save percentage on the season ranks sixth in NCAA history.

Holt also ended his career with 44 career shutouts, an NCAA record according to the official 2011 NCAA Records Book.

The Omaha native becomes the sixth player in school history to earn College Cup All-Tournament Team honors, joining Mike Gabb (2000), Ishmael Mintah (2000), Brian Mullan (2000), Mike Tranchilla (2000, 2002) and Joe Wieland (2002).
