Junior Kirstyn Corder came out to play in 2014, scoring two goals in the season opener to lead Creighton past South Dakota State on Aug. 22.  Corder recorded the Bluejays first and third goal of the second half, including the game-winning goal.  Her efforts earned the forward a spot on the initial BIG EAST Honor Roll on Aug. 25

Rice on a Roll:
Sophomore Danielle Rice extended her consecutive minutes streak to 1,518:07 minutes in the net for the Bluejays.  Rice played the last 1,338:07 of 2013.

Flying High Out of the Cage:
Off to a two match winning streak to open the 2014 season, Creighton has burst out to the team’s best start since going 2-0 in 2011.  The last time the Bluejays opened a season 3-0 was in 2008, when Creighton won its first four matches.  The best start in school history came in 1993 as the Bluejays began the year, 5-0-0.

Crossing the Summit:
Having already beaten South Dakota State in the season opener, Creighton faces two more Summit League opponents in 2014, battling Western Illinois and Omaha.  The Leathernecks were picked to finish fifth in the Summit’s preseason poll, while Omaha was eighth and South Dakota State was second.
