MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Creighton baseball remained hot as the Bluejays posted two runs in the eighth inning to slip past Arkansas State, 5-4, on Sunday, March 9.
The win moved Creighton to 6-4-1 on the season, while Arkansas State fell to 6-8 overall. The Bluejays' win extended Creighton's unbeaten streak to seven games.

The Red Wolves took advantage of two Bluejay errors to plate three unearned runs in the fourth, nabbing a 3-1 lead.

JuniorJake Peterfollowed with a single through the right side to bring Gerber back to the plate. This time the Gerber worked a 3-1 count before blasting a two-run double to right to give the Bluejays a 5-4 lead.
Creighton starter, sophomoreAustin Groth, departed after 3.2 innings. Groth allowed three unearned runs on five hits and a walk. The Bluejay bullpen got 2.1 innings from sophomoreNick Highberger, followed by two outs from sophomoreWill Bamesberger.
The win went to juniorMark Lukowski(1-0), who recorded four flawless outs. Peter came on to close the door in the ninth, working around two walks and a hit to pick up his first save of the season.
Arkansas State's Coulton Lee took the loss (0-1), allowing one run on two hits without recording an out.
