Eric Wordekemper
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Entering his second season as an undergraduate assistant coach, Wordekemper expects to complete his degree in leadership studies this spring. A nine-year veteran in pro ball, Wordekemper intends to return to the professional ranks this season as he nears completion of his rehab from Tommy John surgery.

During his three seasons as a Bluejay (2003-05), Wordkemper posted a combined 14-8
record over 173.1 innings. His best season came in 2005 as he delivered a flawless 6-0 record in 43.1 innings.  That season Wordekemper started 10 games, allowing just five walks and recording 36 strikeouts.  

Eric was drafted by the New York Yankees following the 2005 season, pitching at the A, AA & AAA levels for the Bronx Bombers.  Wordekemper pitched at the AAA level for the Yankees in 2006 (Columbus) as well as 2009-11 (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre).  

Over his nine-year professional career, Eric amassed a combined 22-13 record, tossing 418.1 in 276 appearances (264 out of the bullpen).  Wordekemper has a combined 2.73 ERA,
recording 331 strikouts and allowing just 140 walks.
