OMAHA, Neb. - Senior Lauren Cingoranelli notched two goals and an assist to lead the Creighton women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over South Dakota on Friday, Sept. 13.
The win lifted the Bluejays to 5-2-0 on the season, while South Dakota fell to 3-2-2 overall.
Cingoranelli put the Jays on the board in the 28th minute, via a pass from junior Stephanie Anasi. The play began with freshman Paige Jarsombeck, followed by sophomore Kirystn Corder firing shot at South Dakota goalkeeper Viktor Mackenzie. Corder's shot deflected off Mackenzie to the right of the box. Anasi one-touched a soft pass to Cingoranelli, who fired in the goal from 12 yards away.

The score remained 1-0 through halftime and into the 48th minute, when Cingoranelli took a pass from sophomore Alissa Kohmetscher at the center of the box and blasted the ball home to make it 2-0.
Creighton's two goal advantaged appeared to be threatened in the 78th minute, but a South Dakota goal was nullified by an offsides penalty.
The Jays outshot South Dakota 20-10 in the match, including 12-4 in the opening period. Creighton held South Dakota without a corner, edging that category 4-0.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 15 as the Jays host Montana at 1 p.m. in Morrison Stadium.
