Melanie Placke
Position: Director of Operations
Experience: 1st Year
   New to the Creighton program in 2013 is Melanie Placke, who will serve as the program’s volunteer director of operations.

    Placke will help coordinate some aspects of team travel, and also aid with team meals, video, scouting and general office duties.

    Placke arrives in Omaha after spending the previous four seasons playing for Scott Kneifl at Wayne State University in Wayne, Neb.

    While with the Wildcats, Placke amassed 444 kills and 126 blocks while twice being named an honorable-mention pick on the Omaha World-Herald’s All-Nebraska Volleyball Team. WSU went 100-30 in her four years in the program, reaching the NCAA Tournament each season.

    Placke also excelled in the classroom, where she was a three-time honoree on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Team.

    Placke hails from St. Libory, Neb., and was a three-time All-Lou Platte Conference selection at St. Paul High School.
