2011-12 (Sophomore)
Sarah had a breakout sophomore season, earning Missouri Valley Conference Honorable-Mention as she scored 409 points and gathered 251 rebounds ... Nelson also was selected to the MVC All-Tournament Team after averaging 10.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 blocked shots per game, leading the Jays to the tournament championship and the Jays’ first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2002 ... Nelson earned the MVC Player of the Week twice in the season’s first three weeks ... First Bluejay to win MVC Player of the Week twice in one season since 2008-09 (Megan Neuvirth) and first to win twice in a month since February 2002 (Christy Neneman) ... Nelson led the team with 10 double-doubles in 2011-12, the most by a Bluejay since Creighton Hall of Famer Pam Gradoville had 14 in the 1987-88 season ... Nelson closed her sophomore campaign with the team lead in field goal percentage (.500), rebounding (7.6 rpg), blocks (43), free throw attempts (123) and double-doubles (10) ... Her 251 rebounds this season are fifth in single-season school history, while Sarah’s 43 blocks are the eighth best single season in Creighton history ... Nabbed a career-high 17 rebounds against South Dakota (Nov. 22)  ... Scored 22 points, adding 10 rebounds against NC State (Nov. 27) ... Led the team in points (18), rebounds (7), assists (4), steals (4) and blocks (2) at Missouri State (Jan. 5)... Delivered 11 rebounds, 10 points and career-high five assists against Southern Illinois  on Jan. 14, becoming just the fourth Bluejay (Megan Neuvirth, Laura Spanheimer, Christy Neneman) in the last decade with at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a game ... Dominated Southern Illinois with a  career-high 25 points, added career-best six assists at SIU on Feb. 11 ... Logged a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, along with four blocked shots against Illinois State (Feb. 17) ... Blocked a career-high six shots against Missouri State (March 10) in the MVC semifinals, one shy of the school record ... Off the court, Nelson was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team and the 2011-12 National Academic All-Jesuit Women’s Basketball Team.

2010-11 (Freshman)
Named to the MVC All-Freshman Team ... Twice named MVC Newcomer of the Week ... Started nine of the 31 games she played, earning her first career start against North Dakota State (Dec. 18) ... Eight of her nine starts came inside MVC play ... Led the team with 29 blocked shots and ranked second on the team with 137 rebounds ... Scored in double figures 10 times, including seven times off the bench ... Came off the bench in three of her top four scoring games ... Held scoreless twice – the first game and last game of the season ... Made 6-of-8 field goals and poured in 15 points against Illinois State (Feb. 19) ... Went 5-for-5 from the floor, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds against Wichita State (Jan. 29) ... Scored a season-high 17 points in just 14 minutes at Illinois State (Jan. 20), making 7-of-10 field goals and 2-of-3 threes ...
