ROSEMOUNT, Minn. - Two second-half goals lifted the Creighton women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over North Dakota State in the Jays' final exhibition match of the season on Saturday, Aug. 17.
Down 1-0 after the first half, the Bluejays knotted the match at 1-1 on an unassisted goal from sophomore Kirstyn Corder in the 60th minute. Corder beat NDSU keeper Sierra Bonham on a slot kick to the lower left corner of the goal at 59:50.
Just under eight minutes later Creighton claimed the lead on a goal by senior Lauren Cingoranelli. The Aurora, Colo. native took a pass from freshman Lauren Sullivan and sent it into the lower right corner of the net at 67:47.
The Jays outshot the Bison 15-6 in the match, including 8-2 in the second half.
Creighton opens the 2013 season on Friday, Aug. 23 at Utah State, kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
