MBB Remains in Top 20 of Polls and RPI

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Men's Basketball team dropped in both national polls after a five-point loss on Sunday at St. John's, but still remained in the top-20 of each.

Creighton (19-4, 9-2 BIG EAST) slipped six positions in the Associated Press poll and is now 18th. In the USA Today Coaches poll, Creighton fell five spots from 12th to 17th.

With today's inclusion, Creighton has now been ranked in the top-25 of the AP poll in 34 of Greg McDermott's 72 weeks at the helm over the past four seasons.

Creighton also dropped five spots to No. 13 in the official NCAA RPI that was released on Monday.

Statistically, Creighton continues to lead the country in assist/turnover ratio (1.79) and is second in three-pointers per game (10.50), three-pointers made (242) and assists per game (18.1). The Bluejays are also third in three-point percentage (.418) and total assists (417) and eighth in scoring margin (+14.7).

Individually, Doug McDermott ranks second in scoring at 25.3 points per game and field goals made (200), and fifth in total points (582). Ethan Wragge is second in three-point percentage (.494), sixth in both three-pointers per game (3.57) and three-pointers made (82). Additionally, Jahenns Manigat is eighth with a 3.70 assist/turnover ratio.

Creighton plays a pair of games this week, beginning with Thursday's game at Butler that will air on CBS Sports Network. Creighton then hosts No. 6 Villanova on Sunday afternoon, which will see the Wildcats be the highest-ranked team to meet CU in Omaha since No. 4 DePaul in 1983.
