OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton women's soccer team was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its performance in the classroom, earning the team academic award.
The award is annually given to squads that post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher and runs one school year behind. This season's (2013-14) will be announced in November of 2014. Each of the ten BIG EAST Conference women's soccer teams earned the NSCAA's Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year. Overall, 862 college soccer programs, including 593 women's teams, earned the award.
The Bluejays' women's team has an impressive streak, earning the award in 12 of the past 13 seasons and 14 times overall (1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013).
On the field, the Bluejays finished with a record of 9-8-1, including a 2-6-1 mark in BIG EAST play.
