Janning delivered one of the best seasons in recent history for the Bluejays as a sophomore, scoring 599 points in 34 games ... She closed the season becoming the first Creighton player to claim post-season All-America recognition, earning WBCA All-America Honorable Mention ... The BIG EAST Player of the Year, Janning was the league’s top scorer at 17.6 points per game overall and 19.9 against BIG EAST foes ... The sophomore guard was one of eight conference players to eclipse the 30-point mark and one of just four to do it on multiple occasions ... Her 38-point showing against Georgetown tied for the BIG EAST single-game high with Creighton’s own McKenzie Fujan (against DePaul on Jan. 4) ... The Bluejay floor general averaged 3.9 assists per game and shot over 41 percent from deep, making 2.8 triples per game to rank second in the BIG EAST, in conference play ... Despite playing over 34 minutes per game, Creighton’s offensive facilitator averaged less than three turnovers per game as the Bluejays finished the season 19th in the nation in miscues per contest (12.6) ... Janning connected on eight free throws as she opened 2013-14 with a team-high 21 points at Drake.  In her three career games with the Bulldogs she has scored 22, 29 and 21 points ... Marissa became the first Bluejay to score 20 points or more in the opening two games of the season since Kris Kugel did it in 1992-93 as she led Creighton to a 68-63 win over South Dakota State with 20 points on Nov. 12. Her three-pointer in the final minute gave Creighton a 61-59 lead, she went on to hit five-of-six free throws to seal the victory ... Marissa tied a career-high with six trifectas in Creighton’s loss at #18 Oklahoma on Dec. 1 ... Janning’s dribble drive sent her to the line a career-best 14 times against BYU, she drained 13 of those shots en route to her fifth 20-point effort ... Marissa was Creighton’s second representative on the ‘Duel in the Desert’ Scarlet Division All-Tournament Team as she scored a combined 42 points to help Creighton down Oregon State (Dec. 19) and UNLV (Dec. 21) ... Marissa grabbed eight rebounds and tossed in 15 points in the Bluejays’ 86-78 win over DePaul on Jan. 4 ... Playing against her former AAU teammate, Tori Rule, Janning put on a show at Providence as the sophomore dropped 34 points on 13-of-17 from the field (77%) ... Janning tossed in 29 points and four assists to pace the Bluejays in a 79-50 win over Xavier on Jan. 15 ... Marissa earned the BIG EAST Player of the Week nod on Jan. 27 for her 23-point, eight assist performance in Creighton’s 83-64 win over Marquette on Jan. 25 ... Janning posted back-to-back 20+ point games for the second time in 2013-14, leading Creighton to a 76-73 win at Seton Hall on Jan. 28 with 28 points ... Marissa tied the D.J. Sokol Arena record, set earlier in the 2013-14 season by teammate McKenzie Fujan, with a career-high 38 points in the Bluejays’ 75-61 win over Georgetown ... Janning also set a career mark with nine rebounds against the Hoyas on Feb. 5 ... Janning topped 20 points for the 13th time in her sophomore season, scoring 20 at Marquette on March 1 ... Marissa was named the BIG EAST Player of the Year on March 4, also claiming a spot on the All-BIG EAST First Team ... Janning became just the third Bluejay to top the 1,000-point mark in two seasons, posting 19 points in Creighton’s 77-51 win over Missouri on March 20.

2012-13 (Freshman)
Janning wrapped up her remarkable freshman campaign by becoming the first Bluejay to earn Freshman All-American honors (Full-Court) and was the first Creighton freshman to earn All-MVC First Team honors ... The MVC Freshman of the Year was a four-time MVC Newcomer of the Week award winner ... Marissa led Creighton in scoring with 417 points (12.6 ppg), appearing in all 33 contests ... Janning broke into the starting lineup in 11 games, draining a team-high 74 three-pointers ... Marissa broke her own D.J. Sokol Arena record with 29 points, including 23 in the second half, to push the Jays past Drake on March 4 ... Marissa earned her third MVC Newcomer of the Week award for her 38 points and 11-for-26 (.423) from the field in games against Missouri State (Feb. 14) and Wichita State (Feb. 16) ... Janning’s 26 points set the Creighton record for points in D.J. Sokol Arena in the Jays’ 67-51 win over Missouri State on Feb. 14. She also tied the arena record for three-pointers with six ... Marissa earned her first career start in Creighton’s 66-60 loss at Illinois State on Feb. 10, scoring 16 points and notching her first block as a Bluejay ... Powered by five trifectas, including three in 62 seconds, Janning dropped in 22 points to lead Creighton past Drake, 98-71 on Feb. 2 ... Janning finished with 21 points to lead the Jays to a 79-67 win over Bradley on Jan. 27 ... Marissa opened MVC play with a combined 36 points in her first two contests, including 22 at Evansville on Jan. 5 ... Janning was 7-of-10 in her Minnesota homecoming, delivering 18 points and seven rebounds in the Jays’ 88-81 (2ot) loss on Dec. 30 against the Golden Gophers ... Marissa posted 19 points on 7-of-10 from the field to lead the Jays past #25 Nebraska 66-57 on Dec. 5 ... Janning made a statement in her fifth game as a Bluejay, leading the team back from 18 down to defeat BYU 65-62 in overtime on Nov. 28. She finished with 19 points in 33 minutes. Her efforts earned Janning the MVC Newcomer of the Week Award.

As a Royal, Janning delivered 3,587 points in her varsity career, which began as a seventh-grader ... She earned a combined 18 varsity letters in basketball (six), cross country (two), track (six) and volleyball (four) ... A four-time team MVP, Janning averaged 30.1 points per game as a senior, leading her squad to a 24-3 record ... She was named Minnesota Miss Basketball 2012, setting a new Minnesota record with 458 career three-pointers ... As a senior she also dished out 135 assists and grabbed 150 steals .... She earned AP Player of the Year as a senior and All-Metro First Team Honors from the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a junior and as a senior ...
