Brandy Menaugh was hired as Director of Compliance for the Creighton University Athletic Department on July 30, 2009. An Omaha native, Menaugh came to Creighton after serving as Assistant Director of Championships and Compliance for the Horizon League. Her first day at Creighton was August 17, 2009.
She was named Assistant Athletic Director in 2012 and assumed Senoir Woman Administrator duties on July 1, 2014 following the retirement of Carol Ketcham. She will oversee all compliance matters and will continue as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics (under the Office of Equity and Inclusion). She also has administrative oversight for women’s basketball, volleyball and softball in addition to the SAAC.
In her role at the Horizon League, Menaugh was tournament manager for the League’s women’s basketball tournament and cross country championships while also serving as the secondary liaison for a number of other championships. As part of her job, she would process initial eligibility paperwork, secondary violations, hardship waivers, National Letters-of-Intent and other compliance projects, including on-campus compliance audits and NCAA reports.
She assisted Horizon League institutions with compliance and legislative issues in addition to serving as the primary media contact for swimming & diving as well as tennis. She was also the staff liaison to the men’s basketball officiating coordinator. Menaugh served on the Game Management Committee at the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional in Indianapolis as well as the 2009 Final Four a week later in Detroit.
Prior to joining the Horizon League, she was the compliance and championships intern at the Western Athletic Conference office.
Menaugh earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska in 2003 and a juris doctorate from its College of Law in 2006. She was admitted to the Nebraska Bar later in 2006 and served as a law clerk for Walentine, O’Toole, McQuillan & Gordon in Omaha.
Menaugh replaced Bob Hanson at Creighton, who resigned in April, 2009.
She and her husband Joe reside in Omaha and have one daughter, Micah.
