OMAHA, Neb. - The class of 2014 signing class grew to seven for the Creighton women's soccer team with the additions of Celina Kassam, Annie McCleary and Patrice Quadrel.

McCleary will join the Bluejays as a junior after spending her first two seasons at Alabama State.  Originially from Queensland, Australia, McCleary is a 5'6'' midfielder/forward.  Over her two seasons with the Hornets, McCleary appeared in 38 matches with 32 starts.  She tallied eight goals (four each season) with 13 assists and three game-winning goals.  An All-SWAC First Team selection as a midfielder last season, McCleary also was named the SWAC Freshman of the Year in 2012.

"Annie is a great attacking player with great vision and a knack for both creating and scoring goals," said head coach Bruce Erickson.  "She will really compliment our attack and has a great work rate on the field."

Kassam is a 5'5'' midfielder from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada), she graduated from Strathcona High School in Edmonton in this spring.  Kassam also attended high school in the United States at Darlington High School in Rome, Georgia.  Kassam played in All-Star Canadian National Competition in Hamilton, Ontario for Alberta.  During that competition she led Alberta to a second place finish.

Quadrel is a 5'5'' midfielder from Fort Collins, Colo.  She graduated from Rocky Mountain HS this spring as the school's valedictorian.  She earned letters in soccer in each of her final three seasons at Rocky Mountain HS and also collected two letters in track.  An all-conference second team selection last season, Quadrel plays club soccer for Arsenal Gold.

"Patrice and Celina come from very successful club and high school programs," noted Erickson. "In addition to being very good soccer players, they're both high character people and great students. We look forward to them joining us and making an impact on our program."
