Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Bill Ross Intercollegiate

OVERLAND Park, Kan. -- The Creighton golf team finished 14th at the Bill Ross intercollegiate on Tuesday. The 15-team event took place at the par-72 7,054 yard Milburn Golf and Country Club. The field included Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Missouri State, Drake and UMKC.

Creighton finished with a team score of 913 (308+303+302).

Central Arkansas took top honors with a 872 (289+290+293). Oklahoma Christian (296+284+293=873) and Louisiana-Monroe (297+288+297=882) finished second and third respectively.

James Newton of Central Arkansas (67+75+69) and Alasdair Dalgliesh (72+70+69) of Oklahoma Christian tied for first with a 211 . Central Arkansas’ Pep Angles (73+68+72) and Charlie Macneal of Louisiana-Monroe (70+72+71) finished third shooting 213.

The Jays were led by Kade Brown. He finished tied for 32nd with a 225 (76+73+76). Johnny Spellerberg finished tied for 43rd with a 227 (77+76+74). Richard Schneider finished third for the Jays. He shot a 228 (77+74+77) which placed him in a tie for 48th.

Tommy Anderson (75th, 82+80+75=237) and Andrew Holloway (78th, 78+80+83=241) both had strong showings for the Jays.

Steffen Lake (51st, 89+84+88=261) competed in the event as an individual.

The Jays return home Oct. 29 to take on Drake at the Omaha Country Club.
