Men's Basketball Open Practice; Find Your Seat Day Set For Saturday Morning

MEN’S BASKETBALL OPEN PRACTICE/SCRIMMAGE; FIND-YOUR-SEAT DAY SET FOR SATURDAY MORNING
College basketball fans can catch their first glimpse of the 2009-10 Creighton men’s basketball team by attending an open practice/scrimmage this Saturday at D.J. Sokol Arena inside the Ryan Athletic Center. The event, which replaces the annual men’s basketball “find-your-seat” night at Qwest Center Omaha, includes a men’s basketball open practice/scrimmage from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., and an autograph session following the scrimmage. Admission is free to the event but fans are encouraged to bring a canned or boxed food item as a donation to the Siena/Francis House (collection receptacles will be positioned at entry points). Concessions will be available for purchase and 2009-10 roster sheets will be available free of charge. CU Athletics ticket office personnel will be on hand during the event as Qwest Center Omaha upper bowl seats not yet sold as season tickets will be available for purchase.  
 
SECOND BASKETBALL OPEN PRACTICE/SCRIMMAGE SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, OCT. 31
A second and final Creighton basketball open practice/scrimmage will be held at D.J. Sokol Arena inside the Ryan Athletic Center on Saturday, Oct. 31. Head coach Dana Altman and the men’s basketball team will have the floor from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., while head coach Jim Flanery and the women’s basketball team will take to the court from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Admission is free to the event but fans are encouraged to bring a canned or boxed food item as a donation to the Siena/Francis House (collection receptacles will be positioned at entry points). Autograph sessions will be held after the scrimmages, concessions will be available for purchase throughout the day and 2009-10 roster sheets for each team will be available free of charge.

MEN’S BASKETBALL 2009-10 SINGLE-GAME TICKETS GO ON SALE MONDAY
Creighton men’s basketball single-game tickets for all 2009-10 regular season home games will be available for purchase starting at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 26. All seats available for any game are upper bowl reserved and fans can purchase single-game tickets starting at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 26 by stopping by the Ryan Athletic Center Ticket Office, the Qwest Center Omaha Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet (Baker’s, Younkers). Bluejay fans can also purchase single-game tickets starting at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 26 by going online at www.ticketmaster.com or charging by phone via Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000. Please note that both the Ryan Athletic Center Ticket Office and the Qwest Center Omaha Box Office are prohibited from taking phone orders. When making ticket purchases in person at the Ryan Athletic Center Ticket Office or the Qwest Center Omaha Box Office, fans can avoid ticket service charges.

GETTING BLUE EVENT SET FOR SATURDAY, OCT. 31
“Getting Blue” is a tradition of community, food and music all in an effort to create a “Blue Out” for home games. A “Getting Blue” event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., in conjunction with the men’s and women’s basketball open practice/scrimmages at D.J. Sokol Arena inside the Ryan Athletic Center (men’s basketball from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; women’s basketball from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.) and the men’s soccer match against the UCLA Bruins (3:00 p.m., kick-off, Morrison Stadium).
