ORLANDO, Fla. -- The 2012 Creighton University Volleyball media guide earned "Best in Nation" recognition at the recently-completed College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Workshop held in Orlando.
Twenty-seven colleges, universities and conference offices were honored overall, with Creighton and Missouri State (3 honors) the only Missouri Valley Conference schools recognized for their work in 2012-13.
The 2012 Volleyball Media Guide was produced by sports information director Rob Anderson and assistant sports information director Glen Sisk, with the outside covers designed by director of promotions and assistant director of marketing Joe Willman. The 72-page publication can be downloaded on-line, free-of-charge, at www.GoCreighton.com.
This is the seventh major award for the office in the past six years. In that time, the Creighton Sports Information Office was honored by Valley officials for Excellence in Sports Information as the top SID office in the MVC twice (2007-08 and 2010-11). In addition, the office received second-place plaudits in the 2009-10 CoSIDA Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest for a story about an intentional walk. Other award-winning publications include the 2007 volleyball media guide (winner of the Viggo O. Nelson National Collegiate Media Guide Award), the 2008 volleyball media guide (CoSIDA's eighth-best nationally), and the 2008-09 men's basketball guide (CoSIDA's ninth-best nationally).
