AMES, Iowa -- The Creighton women's cross country team took 29th and the men 28th as they closed their respective fall seasons at the Midwest Regional meet in Ames, Iowa, on Friday.
Among the teams in the Regional were Iowa State, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, Bradley, Southern Illinois, Wichita State, and Illinois State.
Oklahoma State took the top spot in the men’s 10k and Iowa State on the women’s. Chris O’Hare of Tulsa led the men’s field with a time of 30:28. Iowa State’s Crystal Nelson finished first on the women’s 6k with a time of 20:12.
Maddie Ivy led the Bluejay women. The freshman finished 59th with a time of 21:45. Junior Courtney Sawle finished 151st clocking in at 22:55. Vanessa Miller finished third for the Jays. The freshman finished 181st with a time of 23:34.
Garrett Kenyon led the Bluejay men. The sophomore finished 100th with a time of 32:30. Patrick Reinschmidt finished second for the Jays. The freshman finished 170th clocking in at 34:16. Sam Wiel finished 180th with a time of 34:56
The meet was the final one of the fall for Creighton.
