Doug McDermott Ready for NBA Draft

OMAHA, Neb. -- Three days shy of the 2014 NBA Draft, Creighton men's basketball senior Doug McDermott stopped by the Joseph J. Vinardi Athletic Center following an on-campus workout to meet with the Omaha media on Monday.

During the wide-ranging 15-minute interview McDermott discussed topics such as his draft preparation, team workouts, recent conversations with Harrison Barnes and Kyle Korver, his suit for draft night, his recent commercial with Peanut M&M's and Creighton's new Championship Center that features a Players' Lounge bearing his name.

McDermott won 14 National Player of the Year accolades during a senior season that saw him lead the Bluejays to a third straight Round of 32 NCAA Tournament appearance, as he topped the nation in scoring with 26.7 points and added a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.

McDermott finished his career fifth in NCAA history with 3,150 career points and was the first male to be named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press since 1985.

Creighton is coached by Greg McDermott, Doug's father, who owns a 107-38 record after four seasons with the Bluejays.
