Men's Basketball Vaults Up In National Polls

OMAHA, Neb. -- Three straight double-figure wins have helped the Creighton men's basketball team make a big jump in the national basketball rankings released on Monday. In addition, the Jays continue to lead the nation in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and three-pointers per game in the latest statistical rankings released on Monday.

Creighton is ranked 13th nationally in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll and 16th in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Jays jumped four spots in the coaches poll and five slots in the AP rankings after beating Missouri State (91-77) and Bradley (75-58) last week. Dating to the final three polls of last season, Creighton has now been ranked in a school-record 17 straight Associated Press polls.

Creighton has now been ranked in the AP poll during 26 of Greg McDermott's 51 weeks at the helm, not to mention five other weeks where it's been 26th, 27th or 28th. The 26 weeks in the poll are most of any Creighton basketball coach in history.
