OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball team remained 13th in the USA Today coaches poll and 16th in the Associated Press rankings that were released on Monday. There was minimal movement in both polls after only one ranked team lost last week.
Creighton has now been ranked in the top 16 by both groups in each of the first six polls of the season, reaching as high as No. 11 two weeks ago in both.
With final exams going on, Creighton has just one game scheduled this week. The Bluejays will play at California on Saturday night at 10 pm Central. The Bears are 6-2 on the season and expected to be one of the top teams in the nation's second-rated league, the Pacific 12 Conference.
Statistically, Creighton ranks among the nation's top-12 in six different categories. The Jays are third in field goal percentage (.519), eighth in assist/turnover ratio (1.53), ninth in both three-pointers per game (9.0) and three-point percentage (.421) and 10th in both points (802) and assists per game (17.6).
Individually, Grant Gibbs is third in assist/turnover ratio (7.33) and 15th in assists per game (6.6), Doug McDermott is fifth in points per game (22.7) and Ethan Wragge is 16th in three-point field goal percentage (.481).
