ST. LOUIS -- ESPN notified the Missouri Valley Conference that the Creighton at Southern Illinois men’s basketball game will air ESPNU on Sunday, January 27, at 7 p.m. Central, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today.
As part of its agreement with the Missouri Valley Conference, ESPN has selected four weekends during the 2012-13 season to utilize the "Wildcard" selection process to determine league men’s basketball games for its networks.
On three different dates in 2012-13 -- January 20 and 27 and February 10 -- ESPN will decide between a pair of games to televise on ESPNU and ESPN3, respectively.
On January 27, Creighton, ranked 13th in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll, will travel to the SIU Arena in Carbondale, Illinois, to meet Southern Illinois in an ESPNU telecast.
On that same date, ESPN3 will televise the Drake at Missouri State contest at 2 p.m. Central from JQH Arena in Springfield, Missouri.
ESPN will also use the "Wildcard" selection process to determine men’s basketball games for airing on ESPNU and ESPN3 on January 20 (Illinois State at Southern Illinois or Drake at UNI) and February 10 (UNI at Bradley or Drake at Evansville) and on ESPN2 on March 2.
