KICKS FOR A CURE/NATIONAL CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE TO BE HELD SATURDAY Creighton soccer will host the fifth annual “Kicks For a Cure” presented by First National Bank of Omaha on Saturday at the Rev. Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium on campus (19th & California Streets). Included in this year’s Kicks For a Cure event, which features high school and collegiate soccer teams competing to raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer, is the third annual National Champions Challenge. Four matches (schedule below) will take place on Saturday and tickets are currently on sale at the Wayne and Eileen Ryan Athletic Center Ticket Office. All seats are general admission and tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for youths (kids five years of age or younger are admitted free). Discount coupons ($1 off) are available at 20 Omaha-area First National bank branches and fans can also print the discount coupon at www.kicksforacure.org. Re-entry throughout the day will be allowed with a hand stamp. Former U.S. Senator Dave Karnes and daughters Korey, Kalen, Kara and Laurel are once again serving as honorary chairpersons of the event. All of the proceeds of the event – which has raised more than $550,000 over the last four years - will benefit Liz’s Legacy, the fund started by the Karnes family in memory of the late Dr. Liz Karnes. Funds will be directed toward research projects at both the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center and the Hereditary Cancer Center at Creighton University.
