OMAHA, Neb. -- KMTV will continue its long partnership with Creighton as the station has announced it will televise eight men’s basketball games this winter. KMTV Sports Director Travis Justice and former Bluejay guard Nick Bahe will handle the broadcasts once again.

Omaha’s CBS affiliate, KMTV has aired 65 Creighton games since 2001-02. The Bluejays have won 40 of those telecasts.

KMTV’s broadcast schedule contains four home games and four road games and features some of the most high-profile contests of the upcoming season.

The home games include the annual in-state battle with Nebraska on Dec. 6, the MVC opener against defending conference tournament champion Northern Iowa on Dec. 29, an I-80 grudge match with Valley rival Drake on Jan. 6 and the Feb. 13 game with Illinois State.

The road slate showcases the Dec. 12 BracketBuster rematch at George Mason, the Jan. 20 game at Illinois State, the Jan. 30 contest at Drake and the Feb. 6 game at Missouri State.

With the addition of the eight games on KMTV, no less than 19 Creighton games will be televised this season, including a minimum six on ESPN-affiliated networks, three on Fox Sports Net and one each on WHIO and The Mtn. Possibilities remain for other games to be added by KMTV, Nebraska Educational Television, Fox Sports Net and ESPN.

It was also announced that KXSP (Big Sports 590 AM) will continue to broadcast the radio call of all Creighton Men’s Basketball games, with T. Scott Marr and Bahe handling announcing duties for most games. Those games are also streamed on-line through www.bigsports590.com.

Creighton’s 27-8 record last year extended its league record with an 11th consecutive 20-win season. The Jays will return eight lettermen and three starters in search of a 13th straight postseason.
