Dustin Bode is in his fourth year as Assistant Director of Marketing, Sales and Promotions. His responsibilities include marketing Creighton’s seven first-tier sports and coordinating all game environment elements. Primary assignments are writing and executing game scripts as well as overseeing advertising deliverables. Bode is the principle video producer at Morrison Stadium and assists with video direction at Qwest Center Omaha. He serves as a sound technician at on-campus sporting events while providing musical creative at all events.
Bode's day-to-day duties include designing and editing all marketing print materials as well as coordinating and assisting the production of the department's television, radio and print advertising. Bode also assists the Bluejay Jamboree, the department's largest fundraiser, and he provides technical support for JaysLive webcasts.
Bode was hired February 7, 2005 after serving two years as a marketing intern in the Creighton Athletic Department.
During his marketing internship, Bode revamped the department's in-game music and helped implement new promotions. He was the primary editor and graphic designer for marketing print materials. In fall 2003 when men's basketball moved to the $291 million Qwest Center Omaha, Bode helped with creative in the department's first video-accessorized facility. Months later in summer 2004, Bode used this experience when he assisted the engineering and implementation of video production at the $12 million Morrison Stadium. During stadium construction, he executed video production from a temporary location and helped oversee the in-season move to the permanent location.
Prior to his marketing internship, Bode interned in the Creighton sports information department from October 2001 to December 2002. While in sports information, Bode served as a game-day statistician and media liaison. He was the primary media contact for the men's and women's cross country teams. Bode also interned with CBS Sports and ESPN during the 2002 and 2003 College World Series.
Bode graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University December 17, 2004 with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in journalism with emphasis is public relations and support in marketing. He was named to the Dean’s List every semester at Creighton and was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society, the university’s most exclusive academic society and second-highest honor. His senior year, Bode received Alpha Sigma Nu's lone academic scholarship and was spotlighted in the society's national publication. As a sophomore and junior, Bode earned the journalism department’s Val J. Peter memorial scholarship. Creighton President Rev. John P. Schlegel, S.J. twice recognized Bode for his superior scholastic achievement during his undergraduate career.
Bode is a 2001 graduate of Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School in Elgin, Nebraska where he lettered in football and basketball. Bode currently resides in Omaha and is studying towards a Master's degree in business administration at Creighton University.
