Menís Soccer Ranks No. 4 in Latest NSCAA Top 25

OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton men's soccer dropped one spot to No. 4 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll released Tuesday afternoon, following a pair of ties by the Bluejays last week.

The draws against Michigan State and at then-No. 12 Georgetown extended the Jays’ program-record of consecutive double-overtime matches to five. The scoreless draw against the Hoyas was CU’s fourth of the season as the Bluejays have yet to allow a goal to a BIG EAST opponent through two overtime matches.

Creighton fell one spot in the poll to the fourth position in the NSCAA rankings. The Jays are positioned just 61 votes shy of the top slot in this week’s poll. California claimed the No. 1 ranking this week.

It marks the 42nd consecutive week that Creighton is ranked in the NSCAA Top 25. The 2010 preseason poll was the last time the Jays were unranked.

Saint Louis, the Bluejays’ midweek opponent, is ranked at No. 22 - down one spot from last week.

The Jays also dropped one spot to No. 3 in the TopDrawerSoccer Top 25 rankings this week, trailing only California and Notre Dame in the poll. Creighton moved down one to the No. 4 position in the latest College Soccer News Top 30 rankings released on Monday.

The Jays’ biggest move in the rankings was in the latest Soccer America Men's Top 25 released on Tuesday; CU fell two spots to stand at No. 6 this week.

Creighton visits non-conference foe Saint Louis in a match slated for 7 p.m. CT Wednesday.
