DES MOINES, Iowa –
The Creighton women’s tennis team completed play at the Drake Fall Invitational on Saturday by claiming multiple wins in backdraw contests.
Junior Amanda Noonan
led the Bluejays with three wins on the day. In the Flight B singles consolation draw, she persevered through two three-set wins. Noonan dropped the first set against Beth Coton of Northern Colorado but bounced back to win the second stanza 7-5 before taking the superbreaker 10-6 in the third. In the next round Noonan lost the first set 6-0 before taking the second set 6-4 to force a third-set superbreaker that she won 10-2.
In the Flight B doubles consolation, Noonan and senior Analese Snyder
paired up for an 8-6 victory over a tandem from Omaha.
Creighton sophomores Karlin Naslund
and Sam Anderson
also posted a pair of singles wins on the day in the Flight C singles backdraw. Naslund defeated Tiffany Hoffman of Omaha 6-4, 7-6 to open the day then rolled over Caroline Anderson of Iowa State 6-1, 6-0. Anderson edged Allison Johnson of Omaha 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 in her opener then knocked off another Maverick, Jacqueline Baude, 6-3 and 6-0.

and freshman Simone Hussussian
each fell in their second-round main draw singles matches after advancing on Friday.
All eight Bluejays were in action again on day two of the Invitational.
Creighton is back in action in two weeks when they host the Omaha Collegiate Invitational on Sept. 27-29.
