St. LOUIS, Mo. - Creighton WBB freshman Marissa Janning claimed her fourth Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Newcomer of the Week award on Monday, March 4.

Janning bested her own arena record at D.J. Sokol Arena in the Jays lone game of the week, scoring 29 points to lead Creighton to a 67-66 win over Drake on March 3. Marissa scored 23 of her 29 points in the second half to lead Creighton back from a nine-point deficit. Janning was 11-of-16 from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Marissa scored 11 of the Jays final 13 points over the final six minutes.

Janning also earned the award on Dec. 3, 10 & Feb. 18.

Janning leads the Bluejays with 13.7 points per game and is on pace to top 400 points this season.  The Jays return to action for their final two home games on Thursday, March 7 (vs. Evansville at 7 p.m.) and Saturday, March 9 (vs. Southern Illinois at 2 p.m.).
