Last Time vs. Indiana State: W, 63-48 @ Creighton (2-19-12)
Sarah Nelson and Carli Tritz paced the Jays as Tritz approached a triple-double with 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Bluejays, making 8-of-13 shots from the floor and 2-of-3 from long range.  Nelson pulled down her second straight double-double and her team-leading 10th of the season with 15 points and 12 boards.

The duo ensured that 2011-12’s lone senior DaNae Moore left D.J. Sokol Arena as the victory for the final time.  The Jays held Indiana State to 31.5% from the field in that contests (17-of-54).

About Indiana State
•  Located in Terre Haute, Ind., Indiana State has an enrollment of 10,200.
•  The Sycamores finished 2011-12 with a 15-16 record and a 9-9 mark in the Valley.  ISU returns seven letterwinners from last season, including two starters (Whitley and Munn).
•  Illinois State was picked to finish seventh in the MVC preseason poll.

Scouting the Sycamores (10-4, 2-1 MVC)
Indiana State  downed Drake by 18, 67-49, in its first road conference outing of the season.  Starters Racheal Mahan and Taylor Whitley were a combined 16-of-26 from the field (61.5%) as the duo posted 43 combined points.  On the year, Mahan and Whitley are the second and third most lethal scoring options for Indiana State as Anna Munn leads the squad with 14.7 ppg.  A strength for Indiana State this season has been their ability to clean the glass, the Sycamore outrebounded Drake 44-30 on Friday night.  This season the Sycamores are outrebounding their opponents, 529-466.  Indiana State prefers to get to the free throw line (288 times this season), but Munn provides a strong option from beyond the arc as well (38-of-123).

Nelson Nabs 500th Rebound
Junior Sarah Nelson reached a new milestone in the Bluejays win on Jan. 11 over Illinois State (64-45), grabbing her 500th career rebound.  With 8-6 points, the Omaha native is on pace to become just the 14th Jay to record 1,000 and 500 rebounds.

Tritz closing in on 1,000

Junior Carli Tritz is on a milestone chase of her own.  Tritz currently has 942 points in her three year career, with 58 more she’ll become the 24th Bluejay to reach 1,000 points.

Getting Everyone Involved
The 64-45 win over Illinois State on Jan. 11 marked the first time this season, every Bluejay who appeared in the box score recorded at least one point.  The last time Creighton completed that feat was in the Jays; 74-48 win at Northern Iowa on Feb. 24, 2012.  Creighton accomplished this three other times in 2011-12 (vs. Indiana State, vs. Wichita State and vs. #3 Notre Dame).

Jays MVC Statistics

Three games into the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) season the Jays lead the Valley in scoring offense (71.6), scoring margin (+15.7), field goal percentage (.457), field goal percentage defense (.344), assists (16.7), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5) and three-pointers made (10.0/g).

Bluejays vs. Sycamores = Defense
Indiana State and Creighton rank one and two respectively in MVC scoring defense as the Sycamores are allowing just 52.3 ppg, while Creighton is surrendering a mere 56.0 ppg.

Taking care of the Rock
