Turf Comes Up as Softball Upgrades Creighton Sports Complex
OMAHA, Neb. - Crews began removing the old artificial turf from the softball field at the Creighton Sports Complex this week as the venue is set to receive numerous upgrades this summer. The old turf, which was installed in 1999, will be replaced with AstroTurf ® GameDay Grass™ 3D, the same style used at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando and similar to what is used at Eck Stadium in Wichita, Kan.
In addition to the new surface, parts of the outfield fence will be raised to accomodate a new padding. The surface and fence improvements are just the first of many upgrades Creighton is planning for the Bluejays' on-campus facility over the coming months and years.
