SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Two publications from Creighton University Athletics earned district and national recognition at the recently-completed College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Workshop held in San Antonio.
More than 140 colleges, universities and conference offices were honored overall, but Creighton's four honors were equal to that of the rest of the MVC schools and league office combined.
The 2008 Volleyball Media Guide, produced by Sports Information Director Rob Anderson and Associate Sports Information Director Rob Simms, was voted second in District VII and eighth-best nationally. The 72-page publication can be downloaded on-line, free-of-charge, at www.GoCreighton.com.
The 2008-09 Men's Basketball Media Guide was produced by Anderson, Simms and intern Rob Beuerlein, and voted second-best in the District and ninth-best nationally. That publication is 164 pages in length and can be downloaded on-line, free-of-charge, at www.GoCreighton.com as well.
Covers for both the media guides to earn the honors were designed by Damon Andersen of Creative Reservoir in Ralston.
Other offices affiliated within the league to be honored included the MVC office for its football media guide, the Illinois State office for its men's basketball game program and the Missouri State office for its women's basketball media guide and its softball media guide.
District VII consists of schools located in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Last July the Creighton Sports Information Office was honored by league officials for Excellence in Sports Information as the top SID office in the MVC.
