Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Red Wolves Intercollegiate

JONESBORO, Ark. -- The Creighton men’s golf team finished 14th at the Red Wolves Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The 20-team tournament took place at the par 72 6,565 yard RidgePoint Country Club. Among the participants were host school Arkansas State, Southern Illinois, Illinois State and Drake.

Creighton finished with a team score of 918 (316+303+299)

Arkansas State won the event with an 862. Belmont (874) finished second and Illinois State (878) third.

Hudson Carpenter of South Dakota State finished first overall with a score of 211. Belmont’s Ben Simpson (214) finished second and there was a three-way tie for third.

The Jays were led by Andrew Holloway. The freshman finished tied for 31st with a 226. Freshman Kade Brown finished tied for 43rd with a 229. Junior Richard Schneider’s 231 left him in a tie for 56th.

Junior Johnny Spellerberg (T-83rd, 237) and sophomore Tommy Anderson (T-88th, 238) both had strong showings for the Jays.  

The Jays have one week to prepare for the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate April 14-15 in Nashville, Tenn.
