OMAHA, Neb. - Due to current field conditions at Northern Iowa’s Robinson Dresser Field, the Creighton and UNI softball teams agreed Tuesday to move the teams’ three-game Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) series slated for this weekend to the CU Sports Complex.
As a result Creighton (16-9, 2-1 MVC) will play its first series of 2013 on its home field but as the designated away team in all three contests. The Bluejays and Panthers start the series with a Friday doubleheader at noon. The teams conclude the three-game set with a single game at noon on Saturday.
Last weekend Northern Iowa (13-16, 3-1 MVC) moved its previously scheduled home series to Southern Illinois and swept a pair of one-run games from the Salukis, while playing as the designated home team.
In other schedule news, the Bluejays' doubleheader originally slated for March 26 at No. 7 Missouri has been cancelled.
Heading into this weekend, the last seven games on the CU schedule were either postponed or cancelled due to inclement weather. The Bluejays last played on March 16 at Evansville, claiming a series-winning 6-4 victory.
Live stats and updates via @BluejaySoftball on Twitter will be available for all three games this weekend.
