OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton women's basketball has earned its second at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament in program history, snagging a No. 10
seed in the Oklahoma City Region. The Jays will open NCAA Tournament play against No. 7 seed Syracuse (24-7) of the Big East at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, March 23 at 10:20 AM CT.
The winner of the Creighton-Syracuse contest will play on Monday against the winner of the game between No. 15 seed Oral Roberts and No. 2 seed Tennessee. All games will be broadcast on ESPN2 and are available on the WatchESPN app.
Creighton has a 24-7 record this season, tied for the second-highest
win total in program history. The Jays are led by freshman Marissa
Janning (13.0 ppg) and junior Sarah Nelson (11.8 ppg & 7.8 rpg).
The Bluejays appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season, just
missing an upset of No. 3 St. John's in Norman, Okla. (69-67). Creighton
previously made NCAA tournament appearances in 2002, 1994 and 1992.
