LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The Creighton women’s golf team finished 10th at the Bison Invitational in Vegas on Friday. The 13-team event took place at the par-72 6,004 yard Snow Mountain Course at the Paiute Golf Club.
The Bluejays finished with a team score of 641. Nova Southeastern won team honors with a team score of 586. Old Dominion (601) finished second and Southern Utah (615) came in third.
Samantha Morrell of Old Dominion finished first with a 144. Linnea Johansson of Nova Southeastern came in second with a 146.
There was a three-way tie for third between Radford’s Alexandra Austin and Nova Southern’s Daniela Ortiz and Abbey Gittings, all shooting a 147.
Individually for the Jays, Celeste Gassman was the leader in the clubhouse. The senior finished tied for 20th shooting a 156. Sophomores Katie Morel and Mary Cathryn Rau finished tied for 38th, both shooting a 160.
Freshman Grace Yowell (T-49th, 165) and sophomore Rachel Thompson (T-54th, 166) made strong showings in the invite as well.
The Jays get some time off to prepare for the Kangaroo Invitational April 8-9 in Kansas City, Mo.
