OMAHA, Neb. -- KMTV will continue its long partnership with Creighton as the station has announced it will televise five men's basketball games this winter. New KMTV Sports Director Chase Williams will join former Bluejay guard Nick Bahe on the broadcasts.
In addition, Niles Media Group will take over production of the broadcasts, which will be delivered in a 16x9 digital widescreen format.
Omaha's CBS affiliate, KMTV has aired 92 Creighton games since 2001-02. The Bluejays have won 56 of those telecasts.
KMTV's broadcast schedule contains four home games and one road game, with all five games coming against Missouri Valley Conference foes.
The home games included are CU's league-opener vs. Evansville (Dec. 29) as well as games vs. Indiana State (Jan. 5), Drake (Jan. 8) and Bradley (Feb. 2). The road game is a Jan. 11 date at Missouri State.
With the addition of the five games on KMTV, no less than 19 Creighton games will be broadcast this season, including a minimum nine on ESPN-affiliated networks, four on Fox Sports Net and one the Pacific-12 Network. Possibilities remain strong for other games to be added at a later date by other networks.
It was also announced that KXSP (AM 590 Omaha's ESPN Radio) will continue to broadcast the radio call of all Creighton Men's Basketball games, with T. Scott Marr and Bahe handling announcing duties for most games. Those games are also streamed on-line through http://www.am590espnradio.com. Marr also hosts the weekly Creighton Sports Hour on KXSP.
