KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2012 NABC Coaches’ Division I All-America teams. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. 

Creighton sophomore Doug McDermott was one of five men named first team All-America, where he was joined by Anthony Davis (Kentucky), Draymond Green (Michigan State), Thomas Robinson (Kansas) and Jared Sullinger (Ohio State).

McDermott is Creighton's first player honored by the NABC on its first-team All-America squad. Paul Silas was a second-team choice in 1964, while Benoit Benjamin (1985) and Kyle Korver (2003) were third-team honorees.

McDermott finished his season averaging 22.9 points per game, a figure that ranks third nationally. His 801 points, 307 field goals and 48.6 percent accuracy from three-point range all were school records for a single-season.  Creighton finished 29-6 and advanced to the third-round of the NCAA Tournament.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
